Rotarians in Action: Tree planting at Montanha Clube brings together Rotary Clubs of Rio de Janeiro in support of the environment

Rio de Janeiro, August 2024.

In a joint initiative focused on environmental preservation and the promotion of sustainability, the Rotary Club of Rio de Janeiro Maracanã and the Rotary Club of Rio Comprido carried out, in August 2024, a symbolic action, the planting of trees at Montanha Clube, located in the north zone of the city.

The activity brought together Rotarians, partners and volunteers for a day of connection with nature and reaffirmation of Rotary’s commitment to environmental causes. Native seedlings of the Atlantic Forest were planted, with the objective of contributing to urban reforestation and raising awareness.

The initiative reinforces the pillars of Rotary International, which includes support for the environment as one of its areas of focus. The action was planned in accordance with the guidelines of My Rotary and is part of the strategic agenda of the Rotary Clubs of Rio de Janeiro for the 2024-2025 biennium, within the global People of Action campaign.
