Rio de Janeiro, May 2025.

In another demonstration of its commitment to community health and well-being, the Rotary Club of Rio de Janeiro Maracanã took part in the “D Day Vaccination Campaign”, held in May at the Clínica da Família Santa Marta, located at Morro Santa Marta, in the Botafogo neighborhood.

The action, organized by the municipal public health network, aimed to expand vaccination coverage for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, including the updating of vaccination records and guidance on immunization. Through an interclub initiative, the Rotary Club supported the mobilization of the local community, encouraging participation and contributing to the event logistics, in partnership with health professionals from the unit.

During the campaign, Rotarians assisted in welcoming residents and distributing informational materials. The active presence of the club reinforces Rotary’s historic role in promoting vaccination, especially in the global fight against polio.

The “D-Day” campaign was another example of how cooperation between public authorities and civil society organizations can generate direct impact on people’s lives, strengthening prevention as an essential pillar of community health.
