Rotary in Action during Golden August: Club promotes donation of kits for expectant mothers at Clínica da Família Santa Marta

In celebration of Golden August, a month dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of breastfeeding, the Rotary Club of Rio de Janeiro Maracanã carried out a social action at the Clínica da Família Santa Marta, located in the community of the same name, in the Botafogo neighborhood.
The activity focused on welcoming and supporting expectant mothers from the region. Baby kits were delivered, containing disposable diapers, hygiene items and essential care products, bringing together donations made by Rotarians and club supporters.
The action is part of Rotary’s commitment to maternal and child care, one of the organization’s areas of focus, and reflects the spirit of solidarity that drives the club’s projects.
In addition to the distribution of the kits, the morning included informative conversations between volunteers and health professionals from the unit, reinforcing the importance of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life, as recommended by the World Health Organization.
The Rotary Club of Rio de Janeiro Maracanã reaffirms its commitment to actions that promote inclusion, health and dignity. The partnership with the Clínica da Família Santa Marta demonstrates the transformative potential of community collaborations based on empathy and voluntary service.
