Toy Donation at Casa de Jacira spreads hope at Christmas

Rio de Janeiro, December 2024.The Christmas spirit took on an even more special meaning at the end of this year through a joint action by the Rotary Club of Rio de Janeiro Maracanã and the Interact Club of Rio de Janeiro Maracanã, which carried out, in December, a toy donation for the children assisted by Casa de Jacira.

The initiative, marked by smiles, hugs and gestures of care, mobilized Rotarians and Interact members in a true movement of solidarity. The donated toys were distributed to the children of the institution, providing moments of joy and inclusion for families in situations of social vulnerability.

Casa de Jacira, located in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, is an organization dedicated to welcoming and caring for women, children and elderly people at social risk. The partnership with Rotary and Interact strengthened community bonds and highlighted the intergenerational commitment of Rotary leadership to the promotion of human dignity.

“We believe that every gesture of affection can change a reality. Seeing the sparkle in the children’s eyes as they receive their gifts is the certainty that we are on the right path,” said one of the Interact members during the activity.

The action concluded the club’s calendar of social initiatives in 2024, reaffirming the values of empathy, joint work and service to the community, pillars that guide Rotary International in its global mission.
